Filing Fees

A court filing fee charged when filing the Petition for Dissolution of Marriage is mandatory for all plaintiffs, except those qualified for a fee waiver due to financial hardship. If you want to request a fee waiver, you have to prove that you cannot afford to pay the fee and file the fee waiver forms, including a Motion to Proceed In Forma Pauperis and an Affidavit to Proceed In Forma Pauperis.

In the State of Ohio, the filing fee is about $250, but this cost may vary slightly from county to county.
